Third Annual African American Cultural Expo and Children’s Book Fair to Offer 1,000 Free Books in Waldorf, MD on July 19, 2025

The National Black Cultural Information Trust, Inc. is excited to host the African American Cultural Expo and Children’s Book Festival on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM ET. This event will occur at the Capital Clubhouse Arena, Southern Maryland’s premier recreational complex in Waldorf, MD. The expo and festival are free and open to the public.

Attendees can enjoy author book readings, participate in arts and crafts, shop with local vendors, and watch live performances. Each child will receive a gift bag, and the National Black Cultural Information Trust, Inc. will distribute up to 1,000 free children’s books, ensuring that every child in attendance leaves with a book.

Culture Queen, a Grammy-nominated children’s entertainer, author, and educator, will be the Mistress of Ceremonies. The event will showcase dozens of authors from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, promising a fun-filled day for the entire family.

“We’re thrilled to bring the African American Cultural Expo and Children’s Book Festival to life in Waldorf, Maryland. Our primary goal is to provide our youth with educational resources and information. This festival serves as a platform to connect authors, storytellers, musicians, and artisans with local families, offering accessible resources for cultural education and learning,” stated Jessica Ann Mitchell Aiwuyor, Founder and Executive Director of the National Black Cultural Information Trust, Inc.
