The National Black Cultural Information Trust, Inc. is a Black-led nonprofit organization based in Maryland and Washington, DC. NBCIT works on national initiatives focused on cultural arts, education, and information systems for the collective freedom of Black communities. NBCIT is the host of the African American Cultural Expo and Children’s Book Fair. We also have several initiatives including: the Inform, Unite, Heal Campaign informing Black communities about COVID-19, the Protect Black History Initiative – sending cultural books and resources to regions affected by legislation that limits the teaching of Black history in schools, the About Reparations Initiative supporting and providing resources for reparative justice, and Black Bloggers Connect & Blogger Week – celebrating and providing platforms for multi-cultural digital media. We also work to counter and correct mis/disinformation targeting Black communities. Our organization has been featured in national media for our work culturally informing and impacting communities of African descent.
