NBCI Trust Congratulates N’COBRA and NAARC on Reparations Advocacy Advancing H.R. 40 to the Next Phase

On Wednesday April 14, 2021, the National Black Cultural Information Trust (NBCI Trust) co-hosted the “H.R. 40 Reparations Judiciary Committee Vote Forum” in partnership with the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N’COBRA). Though the vote was stalled, our community of over 1,000 supporters, activists, and reparationists stayed up late with us, for over four hours to watch history in the making. NBCI Trust is proud to support the H.R.40 – Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act as it moves to its next phase towards a House vote.

N’COBRA began laying the groundwork for H.R. 40 over 32 years ago. We celebrate the tireless work and leadership of N’COBRA and the National African American Reparations Commission (NAARC).

For the last year, NBCI Trust has worked to counter disinformation campaigns during the 2020 elections that targeted Black voters by spreading disinformation about reparations and the reparations movement. We are pleased that our efforts to support the longstanding reparations movement have been helpful during this important chapter of Black history. This is a powerful moment for Descendants of Africans Enslaved in the United States (DAEUS) and the Pan African World overall.
